Hi there! Today, I have for you a gift guide for all the DIY-ers in your life. Yep, you know the one who would rather make something as opposed to going out and buying one from a store. She'd love at least one thing from this list. I've divided this gift guide into two very general categories: one for the cardmakers/scrapbookers and one for the clothing DIY-ers/aspiring fashion designers.

I have a ton of gift ideas, so I think putting together a little mini basket of this stuff would make your loved one would just be awesome.

Also, I'm going to have a gift guide for fashion lovers coming up in just a few hours, so be on the lookout for that!

Scrapbook

  1. Patterned paper - As a fellow cardmaker myself, you can never, ever, ever have enough patterned paper. That being said, you don't want to become a patterned paper hoarder, but you catch my drift. You could just get a whole pad of 100+ sheets from your local craft store.
  2. Embossing tools - Ever since getting my heat embossing tool, embossing powder, and embossing ink, my cards have pretty much changed. Forever. If they've been eyeing embossing tools for a while now, it would make a really thoughtful gift. Don't forget to get all three, though! One is pretty much useless without the other two.
  3. Stamps - Like patterned paper, you can never really have enough stamps. Stampin' Up has a great selection.
  4. Ink pads/dye ink - You can't really stamp anything without ink pads, so that'd make a nice little addition to any gift. You could also get some dye ink so they can refill the ink pads.
  5. Distress ink - This is one of the things I recently "invested" in and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
  6. Ribbon -
  7. Glitter -
  8. Glue - This is my favourite type of liquid glue EVER and it's just $3.20. Win, win, I'd say. Way better than Elmer's glue.
  9. Foam dimensionals - These little babies can elevate any paper project (see what I did there?), so it's a must in any DIY-er's collection.
  10. Brads - They make awesome accents for any project!
  11. Cardstock - I feel like I've said this too many times, but you just can't have enough cardstock. Nuh, uh.
  12. Envelope templates - Sometimes, buying envelopes is just way too expensive, so why not help them make their own with some lovely templates?
  13. CardMaker/Paper Crafts/scrapbooking magazines/subscriptions - It's always great to have inspiration constantly flowing in in paper form, so a magazine subscription is perfect!
  14. Storage drawers - I'd only recommend this if you know the person really well, but any kind of storage would be such a useful gift because it's really hard not to go crazy when you're working on a project if your whole work area is a complete and utter mess.
  1. Gift card to your local fabric stores - This is just a more thoughtful way of handing them a wad of cash and telling them to just go nuts in their dream store. Who wouldn't want that?
  2. Sewing machine - If she's currently using a crappy one passed down from who knows who, get your friends to pool in a bit of money to get her a nicer one this Christmas.
  3. Fabric markers/paint - Sometimes, you just want to draw or paint something awesome on a shirt and there just isn't a printed fabric out there that can satisfy your desires, so fabric markers/paint are the magical answer to that! The only thing is, they can get a bit pricey, so they'd make awesome gifts!
  4. Sewing books with patterns - Something I've learned from my mom is that coming up with the pattern for a garment is absolutely key is making it. If you could either buy or put together a little book of garment patterns, it'd make a really sweet gift.
  5. Studs - Studs are such a pain in the butt to track down in stores, so Etsy really is the best option. Order her a bunch and she'll probably be extremely happy. I know I'd be.
  6. Buttons - And the same goes for these guys. :)
  7. Fabric you know he/she's been eyeing - Once again, I'd only recommend this if you know the person really well, but if you know that she's been eyeing a particular fabric forever but has never gotten around to getting it, buy it for her!
  8. Mannequin - Even if it's just a tiny one for decoration that she can keep in her room, a mannequin is such a cute little gift that showcases one of her many favourite things. Hopefully.
