Hiatus

Hi there! Thank you so much for being so patient with me these past few years and sticking with me all this time. However, grade 11 is proving to be a bit more overwhelming than I thought it would be and with all the things I'm doing, it's been kinda tough. It might sound like I'm leaving this space forever, but I'm not! I'm just going to take a proper break and not leave you guys hanging until December and I'll get back to blogging. I might come back earlier, but I don't want to put too much pressure on myself, so that's that.

Thank you guys so much again for understanding and I'll see you in a bit! I love you so much. x

Thank you so much for reading!

Sunday Funday: September 13, 2015

Hi there! It's been one full week at school and I'm already loving it. Okay, no. I still wish that I had an extra month (or two) of summer, but it feels nice to be back in the swing of things. It's just been a great few days so far and I'm already getting excited about so many things.

There's club fair which will probably happen in a few weeks if it follows the pattern from the past two years. I'll hopefully be able to get more people to be a part of it and I'm really excited about that. There's also how I've made myself nice schedules for everything like for when I'm working/when I'm working out (which are harmonious), SAT prep, and the magazine. Here's the fall issue if you haven't checked it out yet.

Style Diary: Orientation Day

Hi there! School is back in session and I'm actually really enjoying it so far. That might change pretty soon when lots of hard Grade 11 work gets dumped on my head, but getting back into a routine is so nice. Gosh, I just love routines.

This outfit was from last week when the freshmen came in for orientation. I'm a Link Leader at my school which just means that I'm a part of a program that helps welcome the Grade 9s to make them feel more comfortable in a completely new environment. It wasn't something that I'd planned to do, but I'm really glad I accepted it.

Junior Year Goals

Hi there! I can't believe that it's already the second day of 11th grade. The thought absolutely blows my mind. Like, grade ELEVEN. That's insane. Anyway, there are a few things I'd like to accomplish and some habits I'd like to adopt, so since I love making lists so much, I decided to make a list of my goals. I find that having a set list and a visual of what you're aiming for really helps to achieve those goals, so I really encourage you to do the same. Here's a peek at my list if you're interested!

Back-to-School: 5 Quick Ways to Feel More Confident on your First Day

Hi there! School is so close to starting again and you can ignore it, OR you could start to prepare yourself for the new school year. I’m favouring the latter because I really want my junior year to be as amazing as I can possibly make it. You might feel a bit nervous on your first day, so here are a few tips to up your confidence so you can start the year off on a good note.

Sunday Funday: August 30/15

** This was written yesterday, but I only got around to posting it today. Sorry guys :/ *

Hi there! (That was written sheepishly, just FYI.) I know that I’ve been a really… shitty blogger with my inconsistent schedule and, well, lack of a schedule at all, really. I’m not going to bother with excuses, but today will the first of many more posts that will come to your little screen on time. Just to reiterate, I’ll be updating on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. There will also be a post on Thursday, but that’s just to let you know about the video that I uploaded on my YouTube channel, so I don’t like to count that as another proper post.

5 Basic Closet Staples that I Need to Get

Image Credit: Maegan Tintari via Flickr CC

Hi there! I'm known amongst my close friends and family to shop for statement pieces. It's just been a habit of mine that works conveniently for my eclectic style. However, most basic and staple pieces don't often go on sale (if at all), so I'm severely lacking in those, something that I've only recently discovered. For some people, not buying statement pieces totally works for their style, but the whole 100% minimalist thing is not really my thing, but I still need those basic pieces to build my outfit on top of.

Keep reading for a look at a few of the closet staples that I really do need to get my hands on ASAP.

Sunday Funday: August 23/15

Hi there! I had a pretty busy post-birthday week filled with lots of, well, work. It might not seem like it since I haven't exactly been posting on my blog, but I've been pretty productive in other areas of my life, which has made me significantly happier. I also got the chance to catch up on a few things, mess up a few others, you know, like your typical human being.

SAT madness

I'd been trying to study for the SATs for quite a few months now, I'm not going to lie. I covered a few chapters of math back in November or so, but when holiday season came about, I just forgot about SAT prep. Well, I didn't truly forget about it, I just chose to ignore it completely.

After my trip to New York in July, I vowed to start studying as soon as the family friends left our house and headed back to California, but as mentioned here, I was in a bit of a rut. I couldn't find the motivation to open up the book and start studying, so I didn't.

Flash-forward to the week of my birthday (it was on a Thursday) and I finally whipped my butt into shape (metaphorically) and started studying. To be honest, I'm not trying to come off as like, whatever, but I've actually been kind of addicted with studying. Considering all the other things kids my age could be addicted to, I'd say that this is a pretty harmless one for the time being.

Back to School: First Day Outfit Ideas 2015

Image Credit: Eutah Mizushima via Unsplash
** This post is so long overdue, I'm so sorry, guys. **

Hi there! I wasn't originally going to write this post because I feel like I've done it so many times before anyway. (Here is last year's post and the year before's if you were curious.) However, I changed my mind once I realised that despite the year and despite how many times I've done it in the past, I will always, always be looking for first day outfit inspiration. So as long as I'm blogging, you can expect one of these every August, that's for sure.

Now, enough of me babbling. Let's get into it.

Hi there! Another week has passed, meaning that I'm a week closer to starting school again, which totally sucks to think about. I was hoping to get this up earlier, but I just wasn't feeling it last night to be honest. I'm totally feeling it now though, at like 11 pm on Sunday night. I still have an hour to go!

Anyway, after today's semi-eventful day, I'm now officially ready to wind down and give this blog a little love. Keep reading for what I've been up to this past week!

VIDEO: July Favourites, New York Haul, and New York Adventures!

Hi there! I just posted three new videos recently - one's a monthly favourites full of the stuff that I've been loving in terms of beauty, fashion, music, and TV, the other's a haul of a bunch of bits and bobs I got on my vacation to New York, and the last one's a vlog-type thing about my trip. If you're interested in watching dozens of minutes of me talking or of some delicious food and pretty sights, I'd highly suggest checking them out. ;)

Also, just a FYI, I'll be posting on Mondays now instead of Sundays. I mean, I love Sundays, but I feel like Mondays don't get much love at all, so I thought it'd be nice to brighten up your Monday mornings/afternoons with a video instead of uploading when every single other YouTuber in the world uploads on Sunday afternoons.

Being Alone: Pesky Insecurities and Lessons Learned

Image Credit: Verne Ho via Unsplash
Hi there! Today, I wanted to talk to you about something a bit more personal.  I'm writing this super late at night and I'm hoping that it'll help one of you out there. However, like some bloggers have admitted in the past when writing more personal pieces, they not only write it in hopes of helping others and sharing their experiences (I don't want to use the word wisdom because I don't consider myself to be that wise), but also to help themselves get through or accept a certain thing.

The title "Being Alone" can be interpreted different ways. Maybe the first thing you thought of was being alone in a crowd and feeling lonely and lost despite the company. Maybe it was not being in a romantic relationship. Maybe it was taking time to take care of yourself. Whatever it was, hopefully, I'll touch on it in this piece. Grab a cup of tea because it's going to be a long one.

Tips for Dressing for Summer Weather When Out With Your Parents

Image Credit: flowflog via Pixabay CC0
Hi there! Sometimes, it's quite difficult to dress nicely when the weather is boiling hot and all you want to do is wear short shorts and tank tops. It's even more difficult when you're out with your parents and they want you to cover up, too. Here are a few outfit ideas (for different ends of the strict-o-meter) for those tricky times when you actually want to look cute when you go out with your family in the hot summer heat.

Sunday Funday: July 26/15

Image Credit: Charles Yeager via Unsplash
Hi there! I feel like it’s been a long week because of how tired I am, but at the same time, I feel like it’s gone by so, so quickly. I’m not going to lie, I’m really disappointed in myself that I wasn’t able to post properly this week and only managed to get one full week right, but a friend told me to forgive and do better, so I’m going to try. I’m going to try really, really hard to do it right this time.

Over the years (not that there have been that many, but you catch my drift), I feel like this blog has become the place for me to share my thoughts, feelings, and what I’m going through whether they’re positive or negative. I’m sure I share much more of the positive than the negative and I’d like to keep it that way, but at the same time, I think it’s important to share the not-so-fun things as well. That’s a part of my life, too, after all. I’m not some Sally Sunshine 24/7 and I would feel like a total fake if I pretended that that was the case.

Obviously, there are things that everyone should and want to keep to themselves and to keep private, but in order to keep my blog as real as possible (which is my goal), I’ll be sharing my struggles from time to time in a Sunday Funday or something.

Anyway, that got really deep really quickly, haha.

What Really Is This Whole Fast vs. Slow Fashion Thing?

Image via Wikimedia Commons
Hi there! I'm sure that you've heard the term "fast fashion" a decent recently. For those who don't know what it means, basically, fast fashion is clothing that is made to keep up the most recent trends presented at Fashion Week. It's basically retailers like Forever 21 and H&M that fall under the fast fashion category.

Fast fashion retailers have also been put under the microscope for not only ripping off much more pricey designer labels, but also for making clothes cheaply and dangerously that lead to tragedies like the Savar building collapse in Bangladesh. That's why some bloggers have coined the term "slow fashion" and are in favour of buying fewer higher-priced items that will last much longer.

Sunday Funday: July 19/15

Image Credit: Aaron Burden via Unsplash
Hi there! This week felt like my very first week of summer. It's technically like the third week of summer vacation or something crazy like that, but I just took some time to "indulge" (aka treat my body properly) and actually slept. Loads. It's probably not that much for people who might get a normal amount of sleep per night, but I was sleeping 9-10 hours per night this week and it felt amazing. I could definitely see an increase in the amount of energy I had (no more afternoon slumps!) and my skin is slowly but surely starting to clear up, which is nice.

As you could tell by the updates on this blog and the videos I've been posting, I got my act together and am being a good blogger (in terms of consistency) again. I don't think I've posted properly for a full week in a really long time, which is disappointing and shameful, but I'm super happy that I'm getting back into the swing of things even if it did take months and months.

Style Diary: Wandering Around in New York City

Hi there! If you've read any of my posts since I started you know, actually posting on here again, you probably know that I was in New York recently where I did a little photoshoot for a workshop I took. Only a few of the photos that were taken of me made it into the mock magazine that we made for class, so I figured I'd share with you the full outfit properly.

I got that black top from Urban Outfitters ages ago (we're talking two Spring Breaks ago) and I'm so happy that I've finally put it to use. It's quite a sequin-y piece, and in turn, a bit more on the dressy side, something that I hadn't considered when I purchased it on a whim at a sale, so I wasn't able to wear it for quite a while. Hopefully, I'll be wearing more of this bad boy in the future because I'm kind of obsessed with it.

Passion for Styling: My FIT Workshop Experience

Hi there! In one of my latest posts where I gave you guys an update on where I'd been for the past two months or so, and in that post, I mentioned that I was in New York to take a workshop at FIT. I didn't elaborate in that post because I wanted to dedicate a whole, lengthy post to the topic. Something so extraordinary and life-changing deserves its own spotlight.

I'd begged my parents to let me take a workshop at FIT for about two, three years now, but the timing was never right. The first year, we had a month-long trip to Vietnam planned ahead already, the second year, I had to do summer school, and then this year, it finally worked out.

Summer To-Do List 2015

Image Credit: Julia Caesar via Unsplash
Hi there! Here's the post all about my summer plans, as promised. Hopefully, it'll inspire you to make your very own to-do list to complete the next two months because the summer holds endless possibilities and it'll be over before you know it. OK, that was a bit dismal, but you know what I mean. Don't waste precious time, guys, don't waste it.

So... Where the Heck Have I Been? | Discussing New York, Taylor Swift, and More (It's a Long One...)

Cool mural in LAUT, aka the cheapest Michelin Star restaurant you'll find in NYC (it's so good guys, but don't forget to reserve beforehand)
Hi there! Gosh, it feels so foreign to open up this post and start writing because it has apparently almost been two months since I last posted on my little nook of the Internet??? I can't quite wrap my head around that mind-boggling fact and I feel really bad about it. The first month, I was away because of exams and all that school stuff. I really needed to focus and study for those because I didn't want my grades to slip and after all, school comes first. The month after that was because of my trip to New York. I was supposed to be back and blogging and making videos as soon as exams were over, but some old friends of my dad's came to stay (they're still here actually, they're downstairs in the family room talking as I type) and we had to show them around Canada. OK, well not from coast to coast, but around Ontario (Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal...).

I think I posted on my Facebook page that I was going to be away from blogging and YouTube for a little while until school was over, but I forgot to extend that message to Twitter and, well, here so I apologise about my lack of communication. I was just a bit overwhelmed by all the school stuff. To be honest, I think the break was good for me because I got some time away to recharge and to come up with content that I'm more proud of.

Sunday Funday: May 24/15

Image Credit: David Mao via Unsplash
Hi there! I feel like it's been way too long since I last sat down to write one of these. I'm pretty proud
of myself for managing to keep up with my blogging schedule this week, though. It's been way, way, way too long, way longer than my little Sunday Funday hiatus, since I last blogged properly. Hopefully, this is the start of something good, guys. I'm so excited about this.

This picture is a pretty accurate depiction of how I feel at the moment. Firstly, I'm absolutely exhausted (hence the unmade made), but I'm (kind of) fully rested and am now ready to conquer the day with my cheerful deep mint mug filled with steaming tea and the morning light streaming through the window. There's also a little peek of a keyboard which represents my recent obsession with making calendars and crazy (but old) obsession with making to-do lists. More on that later.

My week has actually been pretty good. While I've been really good at eating healthy, I haven't been working out like I should be, so for the past two weeks, since I've been pretty busy, I've only started to slowly ease myself back into a proper workout routine. Working does make me feel so much better and definitely energizes me, so I'm going to be starting to go hardcore before I head to New York in like 33 days. Honestly, I still can't wrap my head around it.

Dear Alexander McQueen...

Hi there! When I was about 12 and started to really get into fashion and stay in the know about the industry, Alexander McQueen's death was a very, very big story, big enough to get an exhibit at the Met. I didn't spend enough time researching him as a designer and was probably too young to understand his impact on the fashion world at the time. However, recently when I decided to enter the Sears Design Competition (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the lowdown) and had to design a garment based on a historical or contemporary designer, I jumped at the chance and designed something inspired by the legendary Alexander McQueen.

To get a better understanding of him as a person and him as a designer, I read bits and pieces of Katherine Gleason's book called Alexander McQueen: Evolution and boy, did I learn a lot. I also got to appreciate his fantastical and regal vision.

Reading into McQueen's life was also a shocking reminder of suicide. I know that I don't usually ever mention topics like this on my blog, but I think that is so, so important to talk about. I won't linger too long on the topic as this is a McQueen appreciation post, but if you know anyone who is or you suspect them of harming themselves and/or are thinking of suicide, please get them help. This is most definitely not one of those problems that you can just ignore and it'll go away.

Anyway, moving on from the heavy bits, here are a few of my favourite pieces that he's ever made.

VIDEO: Am I Superficial?

Hi there! I made a video two days ago rambling about being superficial. It was definitely a much more personal video for me and it didn't work out so well the first time, so I tried again and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. I hope that if you've felt the way I felt - really dumb and stupid because of your interest in fashion and/or beauty - that this video was able to help.

How to: Make Your Legs Look Longer

Hi there! As not only a short girl, but one with legs that are short as heck, I struggle with how to make my legs look long a lot. I've gotten the short jokes and comments all throughout middle school and high school and while they don't necessarily bother me, I still try hard to elongate those short legs of mine. I'm surely not the only one with the problem and I've learned a few tips over the years, so keep reading to find out what they are!

So I Went to See "Dior and I"

Hi there! Over the weekend, I went downtown to this little theatre that shows indie or lesser-known movies to see a fashion documentary called "Dior and I" with me, myself, and I. (More on that experience in a video to come in June.) While it was a bit stressful because they only took cash (which I didn't have on me), so I had to use an ATM, well two to get cash to pay for my damn movie ticket, it was such a freaking amazing movie. Like oh my GOD, it was absolutely incredible.

Before seeing the documentary, I wasn't that well-versed in the world of Dior and only understood the general gist of his story and not the little details like a devoted Dior fan would. In terms of more modern Dior stories, of course I knew of when Raf Simons replaced Bill Gaytten as the creative director of the house, but that's about where my knowledge ends.

Over the years, I've kept up with the Dior shows at fashion week and was always particularly fascinated with their couture pieces. This documentary shows us the intense stress, hours upon hours of labour, and distinct, clear-cut vision behind such a beautiful collection. Usually, the seamstresses (who deserve so much more credit for their work) and the whole team has about four to six months to complete an haute couture collection. However, this time around, Raf was given his new role as the head of couture, which he has never done before, and had to complete the collection within eight weeks. EIGHT WEEKS.

So of course, that would've been just a smitch more stressful than usual.

Current Love: White Crop Tops

Image via My Bougeotte
Hi there! I think this whole little obsession started when Taylor Swift wore a white crop top with a long black skirt to the ACM's in 2014.

But like every obsession (of mine), it always starts small and then progresses to something bigger. Like I started by saying to myself "oh hey, that's nice" every time I saw a white crop top on anyone in real life or online. Then I started checking Topshop's new arrivals every day, patiently waiting for the perfect one to pop up. This practice has continued despite how I already have five "perfect" ones that I've had my eye on.

May's Big Five

Hi there! It's insane how we're already into the 5th month of the year, eh? I certainly can't believe it. The weather's starting to get so much warmer and it's just so darn nice out. There's lots to be excited for this month, but here are five of the top things on my list.

PROM: Shoes Galore | Shoe Inspiration 2015

Hi there! People talk a lot about finding the perfect dress to wear to prom, so much that shoes don't really get any attention at all. While they might not be as important when you're wearing a longer dress, having nice shoes for a shorter one or a long one with a high-low hemline is essential. I curated a list of my favourite shoes to go with that special dress of yours.

Sunday Funday: April 26/15

Hi there! This past week that I let myself have off from blogging has been quite refreshing. Not in the sense that I don't enjoy blogging and it was a relief not to have to do it for a week, but because it gave me time to think about my blog, where I want to go with it, and how I'd like to change it to improve it. It's also made me realise just how important it is to me and how much more time I want to invest in it instead of the half-hearted blogging I've been doing for what's felt like way too long.

School has been pretty chill the past week, so I've been planning out my blogging schedule in class whenever I have some free time, and I'm really excited about the upcoming posts. The days are getting longer and the weather's just getting nicer, so I'm hoping to be able to use those two things to motivate me to build better habits and work harder with everything that I do.

Just a Little Break

Hi there! I just wanted to let you guys know that I`m just completely swamped with work at the moment, so I won't be able to post until next week probably. Just thought I'd let you know instead of leaving you all hanging...

Thank you so much for reading!

Sunday Funday: April 12/15

Hi there! It's been quite the week for me. I was so productive in some ways and so unproductive in others. Translation: I barely touched my school work (which wasn't pressing, but I should've), but I finished my dress for the Taylor Swift concert! So basically, I'm really happy and proud about that.

The week before, I stayed up until between 11 to 1 in the morning every night working on my magazine (more on that in a second) and this week, I did the same, except I was working on the dress and slaving away in my sewing room. I made some very smart decisions, I know. I somehow didn't fall asleep in any classes, but I did had much more noticeable mood swings, aha, going from grumpy to enthusiastic, so there was that.

Down below is a quick peek at the dress, but it's still not 100% done. I have to fix the zipper and fix up the sash a little bit, but I'm proud of how my 2nd ever creation turned out. I will most definitely show you guys how the final costume turns out along with the posters that B and I will be carrying with us to the concert.

Style Diary: Can It Just Feel Like Spring Please

Hi there! This is only my second Style Diary of the year which is both surprising and not because I've always been a wimp when it comes to the cold. I mean, I won't dress appropriately for the weather all the time, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't seem to muster up the courage to head out in the cold in too-little clothes to take some photos of myself.

Thankfully, yesterday, my little brother was kind enough to spend two minutes (literally, I'm not exaggerating) outside with me to take these super quickly. It's funny because just on Tuesday, I was so excited because it was getting so warm where I live and then the day after it snowed. Like full out snowed. IN APRIL. I was outraged.

It was still cold on Thursday when he took these, hence the crossed arms which you'll find just after the jump.

PROM: Top 5 Stores to Shop + Mini Update

Hi there! First off, apologies for being totally MIA this past week. The deadline for the online fashion magazine I run at school was coming up and I spent hours upon hours on that thing. We had to do a last-minute photoshoot (which turned out really well and I'm super stoked for) and I spent quite a while editing and just perfecting it. I'm just so proud of how it turned out. I'll attach a sneak preview of a photo (and the cover!) at the very end of this post.

Anyway, getting on to what this post is really about, prom season is coming up and it's just all over blogs and websites. Actually, I've even heard that some people have already had their proms which I think is kind of crazy. So you need a dress.

I think I speak for the majority of girls when I say that we want our dress to be unique and make us feel freaking gorgeous. Keep reading for a few options of where to shop, both online and in-store.

Sunday Funday: March 29/15

Hi there! Honestly, I can't quite believe that the week is already over. The past seven days are all kind of smushed up and blurry in my mind, and I can't quite reminder what happened, but I do remember the feeling of not being able to wait for the weekend. But now that the weekend's nearly over (again, how?), I just realised how much work I actually have to do. Barely any of it is schoolwork, but I'm actually kind of worried about it, aha.

Spotify Love

Music was a really big part of my week. I think I mentioned getting Spotify before, but it's just been life-changing. I guess for some that might seem a little overdramatic, but I've been able to make some playlists and all the music just makes me so much happier. Like I've noticed that listening to all this music has considerably lifted my mood.

If you were ever curious as to what I listen to, my username's stylegeneris like it is everywhere, and I have a playlist called "acoustic/indie chill" as well as one titled "sixteen" that I've been putting together for my 16th birthday party (I know, I'm crazy) You have to make an account to be able to see it (which you should definitely do, I'm just saying), unfortunately...

You're Only Human

Hi there! Something that I feel like we forget a little too often is how we're only human. We'll pile a crap load of stuff on our plate and somehow expect ourselves to accomplish it all. Or we'll do something stupid and expect to be able to bounce back immediately and when we don't, we get mad at ourselves. They say that you're your own worst critic and that proves to be so true - we tend to expect a hell of a lot out of ourselves, that's for sure.

VIDEO: Get Ready With Me: School Morning

Hi there! I just posted a video on Sunday that walks through a typical school morning for me in terms of hair, makeup, and clothes go. It was definitely an interesting filming experience, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. You can check the video out below! If you want to like and subscribe if you haven't already, that would be great too!

What is your school morning routine like? How long does it usually take you? What don't you do that you wish you had the time for? Leave it in a comment down below!

Spring Cleaning Goals & Inspiration

Hi there! Something that I've always wanted to do but have never done (trust me, there's a massive list despite the significant dent I've made in that list this year) is spring clean. There's always this bright enthusiasm and excitement when spring comes around and the second word that I think of when I think of spring (the first is "flowers") is "cleaning."

This year, I decided that it'd be a good idea to actually, you know, clean in the springtime. But like any other project, you need some inspiration to get motivated to start. Keep reading for a few of my goals and some projects to go along with them. All with pretty pictures, of course.

Hi there! There are a few things I can't quite wrap my head around at the moment. For example, how is it already the 22nd of March? That means March is nearly over. That means the third month of the year is nearly over. I don't know about you but that feels kind of significant.

I also can't believe that my March Break is over after today. That just doesn't seem fair somehow. The only comfort I have is knowing that I only have to go to school for nine days, and then after that, I'll have a four-day weekend.

There's also the fact that summer is basically three months away and I can't seem to decide on whether that's in a really long time, or a really short one. I think my indecisiveness and my mood are big inconsistent factors that play a role in my stance on the matter.

Speaking of March Break, my week off was a pretty nice one. While I'm laughing at myself since I thought I was going to get loads of sleep (I didn't), I managed to enjoy myself. I wasn't productive in the ways that I thought I'd be, but I was pretty productive nonetheless.

Farfetch: My City Style Quiz

Image Credit: Julia Adams via Elle AU
Hi there! The other day, a lovely lady reached out to me about this new style quiz from Farfetch. In short, it's simply a fun little style quiz to inform you on which city's style suits you best. Of course, you shouldn't let this quiz dictate what you wear from now until you die, but it's nice to discover something new about yourself and maybe it'll inspire you to play up that particular city's influence the next time you style an outfit.

Plus, I'm a huge fan of quizzes and they're always fun to take, so why not try it out, right?

Hi there! I know that I've been kind of flaky in terms of consistent blogging, but regardless, it's my two-year anniversary today! It's kind of crazy that it's already been two years and since we're going into our third year, I'm going to make a much, much bigger effort to be more consistent and simply provide the best content. Thank you guys so much for sticking with me through it all and your support means so much to me.

So thank you thank you thank you! I hope that the next 365 days will be as great as the past two years have been!

Thank you so much for reading!

Spring Break To-Do List

Hi there! Spring Break is coming up (and thank goodness for that), so I'll be able to have a nice and relaxing seven days to wind down and not worry about anything. But of course, there are still a few things that I have to get done, so I've compiled a list of what I'd like to accomplish. Maybe you'll get some inspiration for your Spring Break plans, too. :)

What to Where: School Presentations

Hi there! I always try to dress more nicely whenever I have a school presentation. I don't really get nervous at all for these things, but if I wear something that makes me feel particularly good, it'll make me feel more confident, which leads to me doing better on my presentation.

However, wearing button-downs to achieve that proper school girl look for every presentation can get a bit boring, so here are a few more suggestions!

February Favourites!

Hi there! February was a pretty good month for me, albeit a tiring one. I put together this video of what I'd been loving last month and if you want to check it out, you know what to do. :)

I just thought I'd mention it here in a post whenever I post a video, but don't worry, they will certainly never count as one of my four posts here because that would just be incredibly cheap of me and something that I have no interest in doing.

What did you love in February? Let me know in a comment below!

March's Big Five

Hi there! It's pretty crazy to me how we're already heading into the end of our first quarter of the year. I swear I was just counting down to 2015 like yesterday. As insane it is to think that time is flying by so freaking quickly, a new month comes new motivation to accomplish some important things.

I'm pretty fond of March because that marks the point where the weather here typically gets a bit warmer (which is always a plus in my book), but here are five more reasons to be fond of the upcoming few weeks.

Sunday Funday: March 1/15

Hi there! It's been a while since I've done one of these posts and I apologise. I just didn't feel comfortable writing one of these after not posting for a few days because it was just a ramble about what has been going on in my life, a ramble that felt very self-centered to write when I hadn't written anything else the rest of the week.

It's the start of a new month, which makes me really, really excited. Despite my resolutions, January and February are typically the two months of the year that I'm the lowest in terms of productivity and enthusiasm. In January, the thought of exams and summatives just weigh me down, even if I don't have that much homework, and in February, while there are a handful of events that get me pumped, it doesn't last long. To add to the list, the cold really doesn't help the situation.

So it's usually in March that things actually start to pick up because I realise, "WHOA. Two months of the year have already gone by. We are now going into the end of the first quarter. !!!" And then I'll proceed to freak out for about 20 seconds before making goals and planning out all the stuff I have to accomplish that month.

But overall, I'm pretty stoked about the new month.

I seem to do this thing where I forget most of what I did over the course of the week before when I go to sit down and write my Sunday Funday. This week was no different, but here are a few of the things that stood out in my memory...

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Review + Swatches

Hi there! With my new-found obsession with makeup, I've gotten my hands on quite a few lip products in such a short span of time, one of those being two of the Revlon Matte Balms and let me tell you, they're good. I've always been attracted to bolder lip colours, way before I even started to wear them myself, so I went out and bought the Matte Balms in red (Standout) and purple (Shameless).

I've heard some good things about these bad boys, but not a huge amount of press about them. I remember watching a video or two or reading a post here and there when they were first being released, but not much after that. I wonder why, honestly, because they're super long lasting, not drying on the lips, and incredibly pigmented. In my book, that's a win-win-win.

To prove their awesomeness, I decided to take a bunch of photos throughout my day to show you the life of this lip product throughout the day without reapplying. So here it goes.

DIY: Chanel Couture-Inspired Beanie

When Karl Lagerfeld sent models with floral-clad beanies down the runaway during Couture Week, the fashion world went absolutely bonkers over them. Since Chanel is Chanel (aka really pricey), I decided to do a super quick and easy DIY inspired by the show-stopping piece.

Keep reading to find out how to make this little guy yourself under $15! Quite the bargain compared to the original, I'd say. Plus, you can totally customise this to your own tastes so you're not ripping off the three-figure original.

3 New Ways to Wear Crop Tops

Hi there! A few days ago, a subscriber from my YouTube channel asked me for some ideas on how to wear crop tops - but with a twist. She wanted new ways to wear it but without high-waisted short, pants, or anything like that. It was definitely a daunting task since I've only worn crop tops with high-waisted pieces, but I gladly took the challenge and this is what I came up with.

Misconceptions of First Time Hair-Dyers

Image via PhotoPin (license)
Hi there! I dyed my hair for the very first time (and most certainly not the last) in December and there were some things that were definitely a bit unexpected. Actually, they might've been expected, but the excitement and anticipation building up to really remember and be rational about such things.

I thought I'd put together a little list of fantasies that I had pre-dye that didn't become a reality post-dye. Enjoy!
