Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Review + Swatches

Hi there! With my new-found obsession with makeup, I've gotten my hands on quite a few lip products in such a short span of time, one of those being two of the Revlon Matte Balms and let me tell you, they're good. I've always been attracted to bolder lip colours, way before I even started to wear them myself, so I went out and bought the Matte Balms in red (Standout) and purple (Shameless).

I've heard some good things about these bad boys, but not a huge amount of press about them. I remember watching a video or two or reading a post here and there when they were first being released, but not much after that. I wonder why, honestly, because they're super long lasting, not drying on the lips, and incredibly pigmented. In my book, that's a win-win-win.

To prove their awesomeness, I decided to take a bunch of photos throughout my day to show you the life of this lip product throughout the day without reapplying. So here it goes.

DIY: Chanel Couture-Inspired Beanie

When Karl Lagerfeld sent models with floral-clad beanies down the runaway during Couture Week, the fashion world went absolutely bonkers over them. Since Chanel is Chanel (aka really pricey), I decided to do a super quick and easy DIY inspired by the show-stopping piece.

Keep reading to find out how to make this little guy yourself under $15! Quite the bargain compared to the original, I'd say. Plus, you can totally customise this to your own tastes so you're not ripping off the three-figure original.

3 New Ways to Wear Crop Tops

Hi there! A few days ago, a subscriber from my YouTube channel asked me for some ideas on how to wear crop tops - but with a twist. She wanted new ways to wear it but without high-waisted short, pants, or anything like that. It was definitely a daunting task since I've only worn crop tops with high-waisted pieces, but I gladly took the challenge and this is what I came up with.

Misconceptions of First Time Hair-Dyers

Image via PhotoPin (license)
Hi there! I dyed my hair for the very first time (and most certainly not the last) in December and there were some things that were definitely a bit unexpected. Actually, they might've been expected, but the excitement and anticipation building up to really remember and be rational about such things.

I thought I'd put together a little list of fantasies that I had pre-dye that didn't become a reality post-dye. Enjoy!

Falling Out of Love

Image Credit: Helga Weber via Flickr CC
Hi there! Today, I decided to write something a bit more personal and share a ramble with you all. While February is essentially the month of love whether you like it or not with all the stores trying to sell you all the lovey-dovey stuff, but another important thing that should isn’t often discussed is falling out of love.

I’ve never had to endure the heartache of having to experience it with (or rather because of) another person, but I’ve had the stress of having to do it with an idea, a dream that I was very blindly chasing. As you may or may not know, ever since I was about 12 or so, I knew that I wanted to work in the fashion industry. I wanted to be a fashion designer, show at Fashion Week, and do all of that – that was the ultimate dream. The problem with setting your mind on something at 12 is that regardless of your ability to execute said-goals, you tend to romanticise it all.

Sunday Funday: February 8/15

Hi there! This past week was one of those weeks where it felt like time trickled by at an agonizingly slow pace, but at the same time, it felt as if the whole week went by so quickly that it didn't even happen. Strange, isn't it?

It was my first week of the second semester of the year and I guess you could say it was decent and enjoyable. I'm not sure if I'm going to like this semester over the first, but either way, the second one felt pretty darn short last year, so whatever my opinion be, it won't matter for very long.

Despite the newness of the new semester, school was at the back of my mind this week as I was too busy being really proud of myself for keeping up with my blogging schedule. As bad as it sounds, it made me and continues to make me so happy to know that I managed to keep up with my promises of my posting four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. It might not seem like a lot, but I'm still really proud.

Style Diary: Canine Interruptions + February Goals

Hi there! It's been a while since I've posted a Style Diary, so I thought why not get back into it? I'll be posting one of these bad boys every other week if anyone was wondering!

Today, it was uncharacteristically warm earlier in the week where I live so it was the perfect opportunity to get some shots for the blog. Unfortunately, you don't get to see my shoes because Nova was being quite the bad girl and was a bit of a handful, aha.

Hi there! I know that I've been really MIA lately, for like that past two weeks or so. I've been a really crappy blogger and I apologise, but it's a new month and I couldn't be more excited about what February has in store for me with the blog as well as some new developments in my life that have made me incredibly optimistic about the future. Yes, that was rather vague, but I'll explain in a sec.
